Societe Generale has hired former Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs salesman Matthew Cullimore as a director of exchange-traded derivatives execution sales within the French bank’s London-based prime services business. Cullimore left Morgan Stanley early last year after more than eight years with the US bank’s London-based unit where he was latterly an executive director of EMEA prime brokerage and clearing sales, and before that spent six years as an executive director in futures operations at Goldman Sachs.

The London Metal Exchange has appointed James Cressy as chief operating officer for the LME Group effective immediately, the exchange said. Cressy previously held the role of head of operations for LME Clear and, most recently, head of relationship management for the Group. He will report to LME Chief Executive Matthew Chamberlain and LME Clear CEO Adrian Farnham.
Jill Siegelbaum has been appointed head of FXall and will oversee the business as of next week, according to a spokesperson. She joins Thomson Reuters from NEX Group where she has spent the past 15 years, most recently as global head of foreign exchange. Siegelbaum first joined in 2003 as a sales executive before working her way up to various senior roles including global head of sales and global head of business development and strategic partnerships.
Sun Life Investment Management hired Tieu-Bich Nguyen as Head of Asia Credit Research. In this new role, Nguyen will be responsible for leading Sun Life Investment Management’s Credit Research team, supporting its growth in Asia. Nguyen brings extensive experience to this role, having more than 20 years’ of credit experience. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President and Partner at Wellington Management Company in Boston, where she built, developed and led a cross-regional Emerging Markets corporate investment strategy covering corporate issuers from Asia, the EMEA region and Latin America. Nguyen dually reports to Sancho Chan, Chief Investment Officer, Sun Life Asia and David Hamlin, Senior Managing Director, North American Credit Research, Sun Life Investment Management.
Calypso Technology Inc., a provider of cloud-enabled capital markets and investment management software and services, onboarded Steve Tucker as Chief Sales Officer and member of the Executive Committee. Based in the London office but with global coverage, he will oversee all Sales, Marketing, Presales and Sales Operations activity for Calypso. Tucker joins Calypso from RELX Group, where he was the Global Head of Sales for ICIS. He has also held senior positions with S&P Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters and FFastFill, now Future Dynamics, a provider of Software as a Service to financial markets.
MDXT, a provider of real time data distribution solutions to the trading community, landed Brian Wurster as its new Head of Sales for USA & Canada. Wurster is based in New York and brings over 20 years of sales trading/broking and software sales experience having worked for leading financial firms including BGC/eSpeed, Tullet Prebon and Bank of New York. He reports directly to the CEO, Paul Watmough.
Amanda Jones, global head of market data at Barclays Capital, has left the bank after almost 12 years. At Barclays, Jones was a managing director also responsible for supplier risk management, business information systems and broker and telecoms expense management. She joined Barclays in May 2006 to lead a messaging innovation project.
HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed a head of passive fixed income within its investment team, as the bank’s investment arm seeks to strengthen its passive investments business. Sebastien Faucher was formerly the head of index fixed income responsible at Legal & General Investment Management, and before that was an investment manager for the global fixed income business of State Street Global Advisors.
Brian McElligott, former managing director and global head of information products at CME Group, has joined Tradeweb in New York as managing director and head of data strategy. At Tradeweb, McElligott is responsible for all aspects of its data business, from monetizing market data to using data and analytics to drive trading volumes. McElligott spent 14 years in CME’s data group, including a decade running the division.
JPMorgan Asset Management has promoted its global head of equity trading to oversee an expansion into data analytics, an approach that is capturing the attention of the world's most sophisticated investors. The US fund manager has given Kristian West additional responsibility for seeking opportunities in machine learning and artificial intelligence. It wants to give all of its teams investing in the global stock markets access to a central hub of so-called big data. One area of particular interest to the bank-owned fund manager is the use of natural language processing.
Scott Garrett, a former Republican New Jersey congressman known for criticizing what he considered government overreach by Wall Street regulators, has landed a senior role at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Garrett plans to take a position advising SEC Chairman Jay Clayton, according to people familiar with the matter. The job would represent a second act for Mr. Garrett, whom U.S. senators rejected last year as a pick to lead the U.S. Export-Import Bank under the Trump administration.
Mizuho Americas has hired Jonathan Yellen as Managing Director and Head of Power and Infrastructure for Americas Project Finance. In this role, he is responsible for advising clients and executing non-recourse financings for large-scale, capital-intensive power and infrastructure assets across North and South America. A veteran with a 25-year career in banking, Yellen has served in senior roles at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse. Prior to his career in finance, he served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Thesys CAT LLC appointed Vas Rajan as Chief Information Security Officer for Consolidated Audit Trail. Rajan will report to Andre Frank, President of Thesys CAT and will be based at the Thesys CAT headquarters in New York. In this capacity, Vas Rajan will be responsible for ensuring security compliance of the CAT System and evolving and executing cybersecurity programs as the CAT platform advances from build to live along with its continuous development and optimization. Most recently he served as CISO and Business Continuity Officer of CLS Bank, the member owned FX market utility.
