TRADING UP: Skrypnik to Citi; Bridgewater Vet Hangs Shingle

Macquarie Group appointed three senior members to its US cash equities business: Alex Goodman, Marc Racioppo, and Maynard Um. Goodman has been appointed as the Managing Director and Head of US Cash Trading. Racioppo has been hired as an ADR trader and specialist in Asian equities. Um has joined the firm as a Senior Research Analyst covering automotive and disruptive technology companies.

Alex Skrypnik has just joined Citi as a Director in its electronic trading group. Skrypnik is a London-based quant developer who comes from Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, he worked in Bank of America's cross-asset algorithmic trading team.

Erick Quay

Former Bridgewater Senior Trader Erick Quay launched his own investment management firm, Quay Capital, LLC. The firm, headquartered in New York City, will provides tactical investment management solutions to accredited private investors and institutions across the country. Quay, has more than 6 years of financial advisory and investment experience – working at J.P. Morgan and Bridgewater Associates.

TradingScreen made two new appointments in its senior management team and hired the former CFO of Hotpsot FX for the same role. Rishi Gupta has more than 20 years’ experience working in finance, accounting and operations. He most recently worked as the CFO at a private equity firm and prior to that was CFO for Hotspot FX, the institutional FX trading platform now known as Cboe FX. Alongside TradingScreen’s appointment of Gupta as its new CFO, the OEMS specialist’s current chief strategy officer, Varghese Thomas, will take on an additional role as COO.

Derivatives collateral management services provider AcadiaSoft has hired industry veteran and a former Nomura OTC clearing director Lee McCormack. McCormack has been appointed head of collateral product management and professional services at AcadiaSoft, responsible for extending the firm’s CollateralManager tool to new customers and expanding the service for buy-side clients. His career spans more than 15 years and includes senior roles in collateral and clearing at Nomura, UBS, LCH and Morgan Stanley. He joins AcadiaSoft following a short stint with cloud-based collateral firm CloudMargin, where he was head of product development and strategy.

Lee McCormack

Fonetic, a global leader in voice processing, compliance and surveillance technology, grabbed three industry veterans to create a new product advisory board.  Nick Child, Sandy Broderick and Oliver Blower will provide Fonetic with expert advice on regulatory compliance, surveillance and technology.

Child was formerly Citi markets compliance head. Broderick, an ex Société Générale Managing Director, brings over two decades experience in derivatives trading and post-trade infrastructure. Blower was CEO of RegTech firm VoxSmart and formerly of Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital.

There were three-profile hires at OptionMetrics, an options database and analytics provider. David Hait assumed the title of CEO while Eran Steinberg was promoted to COO and Chief of Staff and Garrett DeSimone was hired as Head of Quantitative Research. As Head of Quantitative Research at OptionMetrics, DeSimone is developing empirical research focused on derivative pricing and macroeconomics.
