TRADING UP: Dash Lands Lesko; Neidenbach to LSEG

Dash Financial Technologies landed Bloomberg alum Glenn Lesko as its new Chief Growth Officer. Reporting directly to CEO Peter Maragos, Lesko will be responsible for driving the firm’s revenue growth objectives globally, both organically and inorganically. A 30 year veteran, Lesko most recently served as CEO of Bloomberg Tradebook. Prior to that he spent nearly 10 years at Instinet, serving as CEO of Instinet Asia and later head of Americas Equities.

Ann Neidenbach, who joined Cowen as chief information following its acquisition of Convergex, joined the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) last week as chief information officer for shared services, according to media reports. She will be responsible for developing the Group’s BSL operations in Sri Lanka and Romania, which delivers technology, data services and corporate support across the exchange’s global operating entities.

Scott Kurland has left ITG. The 16 year veteran and former Managing Director and Head of Workflow Technology at ITG has joined  SS&C Technologies. At SS&C Kurland will spearhead the rollout of their next-generation financial operations system. Prior to ITG, he was Co Founder and Head of Product Development at ESP Technologies.

BJ Marcoullier, Transcend

KeyBanc Capital Markets hired Tom Mazzucco as a managing director and head of global internet & digital media investment banking in its Technology Group. Mazzucco comes to KBCM Technology Group with more than 25 years of investment banking experience, most recently as head of the global internet practice at Jefferies. He previously served as global head of internet & digital media investment banking for Citigroup, UBS, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.

Transcend, a leader in collateral and liquidity management technology, has appointed BJ Marcoullier, former JPMorgan Chase securities finance executive, as its Head of Sales. Before joining Transcend, Marcoullier spent 22 years at JPMorgan Chase, most recently leading its North American liquidity and funding team within equity finance and prime brokerage. He also led funding, liquidity and capital optimization efforts for its US broker dealers and prime brokerage business and managed the Americas securities borrow and loan desk.

Asa Attwell is joining Nomura as its head of EMEA foreign exchange and emerging markets. Attwell will also serve as co-head of global FX options along with Nagaraj Pangal. Together they will be tasked with growing the FX options business across G10 currencies and emerging markets.

Former Cantor Fitzgerald prime brokerage executive Rory Zirpolo has joined EquiLend’s business development team. Most recently, he was a managing director at institutional brokerage firm WallachBeth Capital, and before that led Cantor Fitzgerald’s stock loan group in New York from 2015-2017. Prior to that he worked at Cowen as managing director, global head of equity finance.

CoInvestor appointed Rob Ferguson as its Chief Operating Officer. Ferguson, who has more than 20 years’ experience was previously Chief Commercial Officer of IG Investments at IG Group, a global leader in online trading.

Mosaic Smart Data, a FICC data analytics company, has added two finance and technology experts to its executive team - Stephen Caplen as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and John Showell becomes the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Caplen is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience in financial services. Most recently, he was Deputy Group CFO at interdealer broker ICAP.

Showell is a Citibank FICC technology veteran, working at the bank for more than a decade managing trading technology. He held a number of Director posts at Citibank including Head of Fixed Income Trade Processing and Head of North American Rates Technology.

BTIG landed Gil Ottensoser as a Managing Director to lead the SPAC Banking and Capital Markets effort. Prior to BTIG, Ottensoser was a Managing Director at Shorebridge Capital, focused on advisory and capital raising solutions. Previously, he held multiple roles at Deutsche Bank, including Managing Director, Head of North American Capital Introduction, and Head of SPAC Sales and Distribution, where he assisted in the origination of new SPAC issuances. He is based in New York,

Fixed income manager, BlueBay Asset Management LLP, hired Stephen Thariyan to the newly created role of Co-Head of Developed Markets. Based in London and reporting to Raphael Robelin, Chief Investment Officer, he will work alongside Mark Dowding (Co-Head of Developed Markets) and will assume responsibility for the Developed Markets’ corporate credit investment process. A veteran with  over 25 years’ experience as a credit investor, he most recently worked at Henderson Global Investors where he was Global Head of Credit for the last ten years.

Arkera, a new AI-powered platform that helps self-directed investors make investment decisions, landed  Townsend Lansing as Chief Commercial Officer. Lansing, who has spent a decade in the growing exchange traded fund (ETF) sector, will oversee the deployment of Arkera’s ETF platform for brokers and retail investors in Europe and North America. He recently served as Head of ETCs at ETF Securities, with a mandate to drive growth of ETF investing products.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors during the firm’s Annual Shareholders Meeting. The new directors are Claudine Gallagher, Americas Regional Head for the Securities Services business of BNP Paribas, and Joseph Molluso, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Virtu Financial.
