**Software AG (Frankfurt TecDAX: SOW) announced the completion of its acquisition of Berlin-based metaquark and the integration of its mobile application capabilities within the company’s Intelligent Business Operations (IBO) and webMethods Business Process Management platforms. metaquark’s solution enables the management of mobile users, devices, and security profiles in a single location, simplifying the process of distributing new apps and updates. Also, the technology provides monitoring capabilities, offering enterprise developers a better mobile user experience, including statistics and usage reports. Software AG’s mobile capabilities also allow developers to build a single version of a native, mobile application that can be used across any iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile device. With the mobile market in its current fragmented state, developers and administrators can benefit from creating mobile applications that can run on several software platforms, managed from a single platform.**

Integrated with the company’s IBO platform - which provides analytics and decision management for real-time applications – this provides enterprises with the ability to make fully informed business decisions anytime and anywhere using real-time applications, including those focused on customer experience management (CEM) and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Dr. John Bates, Group Executive Board Member responsible for the Intelligent Business Operations business line at Software AG said: “More than two billion mobile devices will ship globally in 2014.  As this market continues to grow exponentially, application developers need an efficient way to create dynamic apps.  With the full integration of metaquark into Software AG’s IBO portfolio, developers can now build single, cross-operating system apps, testing and managing them from a single platform. An exciting capability is that real-time visual analytics generated by IBO-enabled applications can be scaled to several mobile or wearable devices.”

metaquark’s mobile technology has also been integrated with Software AG’s webMethods Business Process Management platform. Combined with IBO this extends the industry’s leading iBPMS (intelligent Business Process Management) suite, in which business processes can adjust and adapt to opportunities and threats in process behavior and big data. An iBPMS can predict problems, recommend pre-emptive actions and make automated, dynamic process changes in response to events in what is rapidly becoming an “open ended” or “customer-driven” supply chain.

 Overall, the addition of metaquark’s capabilities to the Software AG Suite means that Software AG can now deliver an end-to-end solution for any organization looking for a MEAP (Mobile Enterprise Application Platform). With security and encryption in the front of mind of any Chief Security Officer, functionality such as application geo-fencing enablement, bi-direction data encryption and device remote wipe is more important than ever.
