SkyBridge Capital hires Cerberus Capital Management veteran Tatiana Segal to head the firm’s risk management department.
Segal has been brought on as both a managing director and head of risk management, officially. Segal has over 18 years experience in the industry. Prior to her employment at Cerberus, Segal was chief risk officer at Diamond Lake Investment Group. She has also worked in a director capacity at Citigroup Alternative Investments and has held a position at BlackRock.
The position of chief risk officer is a first for SkyBridge.
The hiring underscores the importance of risk management at both buyside and sell-side firms who are engaged in alternative investments and active trading. Furthermore, regulators are expected to continue their monitoring of hedge funds and will likely require more reporting requirements on positions and assets under management.
