OTAS Adds 'Insider' Trading Analytics

OTAS Adds 'Insider' Trading Analytics

Buy-side traders are about to get a better peek at which corporate officers are trading a company’s stock in real time.

In a bid to help the buy side achieve boost return, OTAS Technologies, a provider of market analytics and trader intelligence, announced a new product offering with 2iQ, a vendor of behavior finance research, to provide insider transaction data for over 45,000 stocks worldwide. The data will be shared via its OTAS Core App which will redistribute on a real-time basis 2IQ insider transactions.

Along with the listing of which insiders are trading what stocks and how much in a given security, the app will also provide users with a ranking that helps traders at a glance assess trading activity and or patterns. This added ranking system can help a trader adjust his strategy on the fly and increase alpha generation and focus trading on priority areas.

According to OTAS, 2iQ provides a variety of insider transaction data, from analyst researched transactions, filing footnotes and information on transactions related to company events. Using its in-house team of analysts, the firm captures data across over 100 data sources on more than 45,000 companies in 50 countries globally. Traders and other users can access the information via the 2iQ app and receive optional alerts that can provide a live peek into a stock’s trading by insiders.

OTAS clients will have access to real-time insider information through a 2iQ insider stamp, including optional alerts on insider deals that provide live updates on insider transactions.

“Traders today require a new depth of market intelligence and analytics to maintain a competitive edge in the market, including fast access to data on insider transactions and holdings,” said Tom Doris, CEO of OTAS Technologies in a release. “Our partnership with 2iQ gives our clients access to this unique data set in the most efficient and automated way and as quickly as the data is available so they can make the best trading decisions possible.”

OTAS products, including the OTAS Core App, can be fully integrated to a trader’s order, portfolio and or execution management system.
