The NYSE Arca exchange had a rough start to Monday-morning trading as a technical issue halted trading at 10:50 am due to some firms receiving unsolicited order cancellations.
The exchange had the market back up and trading by 11:06 am, according to a market status update.
The incident, as reported by CNBC, was due to a software update.
In an earlier update, the exchange operator stated that it was investigating an issue where some firms may have been receiving unsolicited cancels to their orders.
Before trading opened on the market, NYSE announced that there was a technical issue under investigation at 9:08 am.
At 9:23 am, the exchange said that it had resolved the earlier issue.
