Read on for some viewpoints… TERRY THOMPSON ![Hamptons vs. Jersey Shore Part 1](https://articles.marketsmedia.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Terry-Thompson-HR-Headshot-1.jpg?width=318&height=477&name=Terry-Thompson-HR-Headshot-1.jpg) Photo Via Terry Thompson Douglas Elliman Real Estate, **Hamptons NY** Having grown up a Jersey Girl myself, I have experienced first hand both the Jersey Shore and The Hamptons.  What most people never think about is the water…yes the waterways are very different in New Jersey vs the Hamptons.  Ocean Beaches are much more crowded at the Jersey shore with thousands of Day Trippers flooding the boardwalks and beaches.  Just buy a daily badge and find a plot of sand.  The Hampton’s Bays offer vast open waterways with Tiana, Shinnecock, Peconic and Moriches Bays, just to name a few places where one can fish, sail or just cruise.  Jersey vs Hamptons will certainly depend one’s personal lifestyle.  In New Jersey we go “Down the Shore” for weekly rentals where you may find sprawling homes along the ocean, or summer bungalows a stones throw from the beach.  The lifestyle is always casual with your choice of fresh seafood restaurants and surf shops.  In the Hamptons there’s something for everyone whether you are a “salty dog or a socialite”.  Wine tasting, Sailing, Polo, world class golf courses, shopping galore, Fundraising events, The Hampton Classic Horse show, mansions or beach houses, the Hamptons has it all. There is essentially no “keeping up with the Joneses” the Jersey Shore, although its plethora of five-star dining and eclectic nightlight rivals any NYC neighborhood.
