France Calls For Tests Of Central Bank Digital Money

The Banque de France is launching a call for applications for experiments with central bank digital money (MDBC) in interbank regulations.

The objective is to mobilize the potential opened up by technology to identify concrete cases of integration of a central bank digital currency into innovative procedures for the exchange and settlement of Tokenized financial assets.

The results of the experiments will be an important element in the Banque de France's contribution to the more global reflection led by the Eurosystem on the possible establishment of an MDBC.

Deadline for submission of applications in digital form: 05/15/2020 at 3 p.m. (Paris time)
Interviews with candidates whose files are eligible: during June 2020
Selection of applications: 07/10/2020
