Diversity Podcast Launches For Financial Services

Diversity Podcast Launches For Financial Services

Today marks the launch of a new podcast series entitled ‘DiverCity Podcast’.  Available at www.divercitypodcast.com and on iTunes, the series explores many aspects of diversity and inclusion in financial services, throwing a spotlight on issues such as gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, skills, leadership, culture and more.

Two guests are invited to participate in each podcast episode examining why embracing diversity and inclusion matters, offering corporate, commercial and personal perspectives. The series explores the areas where the industry has witnessed some effective transformation, calls out others where further focus is required and offers practical insights and advice, all designed to encourage and inspire others to drive greater change.

The podcasts will be published in fortnightly intervals, featuring contributions from leading lights and influential figures including:

  • Heather Melville OBE - Director for Strategic Partnerships and Head of Business Inclusion Initiatives for RBS;
  • Justine Lutterodt - Director, Centre for Synchronous Leadership;
  • Vanessa Vallely - Founder and Managing Director of We Are The City;
  • Kate Grussing - Managing Director, Sapphire Partners;
  • Samantha Nelson - Vice President of Risk Engineering, Marsh;
  • And Ghela Boskovich - Founder of FemTech Global.

And many more...

The host and executive producer of the series is Julia Streets, CEO & Founder of Streets Consulting, who is regularly named one of the leading women in fintech. This week, Julia was named as one of Brummell Magazine’s ‘30 City Influencers’, adding to her listing as one of their ‘30 Women Entrepreneurs’ and ‘30 Women on Boards’.  A diversity and inclusion evangelist and regular commentator on BBC Radio, Julia is frequently called upon to host industry panels, events and awards, drawing on her public speaking experience as a stand up comedian.

Commenting on the launch, Julia Streets said: “During my 25 year city career I have witnessed great change, but there is still a long way to go. I wanted to get past the marketing and rhetoric to the heart of the debate and create a series both thoughtful and insightful in its content and easy to listen to on trains, planes and treadmills.”

“We are keen for listeners to nominate guests and topics for future episodes. Diversity and inclusion is about gender, ethnicity, race, faith, sexual orientation, age, even diversity of thought, and we are keen to hear from contributors from right across the industry. It is no coincidence that the early contributors are all amazing women in the City; and our schedule includes voices of male champions, of which we are keen to hear more.”

When released, episodes will be available on itunes, soundcloud and the divercitypodcast.com website where listeners can sign up for the newsletters and/or follow @divercitypod.
