Morgan Asset Management in New York, has joined Citi to be head of execution services in Asia Pacific, according to media reports. Engler confirmed the move to Markets Media and declined additional comment. Engler joined J.P. Morgan AM in 2010 and moved the trading desk forward in areas such as [automation](https://www.marketsmedia.com/harnessing-trade-data-smartly/), [data science](https://www.marketsmedia.com/data-science-and-the-trading-desk/), and artificial intelligence. The firm won Best Buy-Side Trading Desk  at the [2018 Markets Choice Awards.](https://www.marketsmedia.com/markets-choice-award-photos-part-1/) Citi provided the following statement: "Citi has appointed Curt Engler as Asia Pacific Head of Execution Services. Based in Hong Kong, he will be responsible for Citi’s regional execution business. He will oversee all the execution desks for Citi’s cash equities business in the region - where clients buy and sell stock via Citi’s high touch, program and electronic desks   Curt , who has worked in financial markets for over 20 years - joins from JP Morgan Asset Management in New York, where he was Head of Trading for the Americas. At Citi, he will be responsible for Citi’s market leading cash execution business that spans 12 markets across the region and where the bank recently topped Institutional Investor’s All-Asia sales research client survey, which polled over 650 buy-side clients.   A key focus under his leadership will be to ensure Citi’s franchise continues to embrace the latest technology to meet the changing needs of clients.   “Curt’s market knowledge of operating in the world’s largest equity market and the market infrastructure changes he has worked through will be invaluable for Citi and our clients as Asian markets continue to evolve rapidly,” said Richard Heyes, Head of Equities, Asia Pacific.   “I am delighted to welcome Curt to Citi. This addition to the team underlines our commitment to invest in the best talent to support clients. Asia Pacific is a key market for our global equities business and I am confident this addition to the strong bench will support further growth with clients across the region,” said Dan Keegan, Global co-head of Equities.   At JP Morgan Asset Management since 2010, Curt was responsible for the daily activity of the trading desk and oversaw the trading operations of over $250 billion in assets under management. He also led the build out of trading technology to support significantly increased levels of automation and the usage of analytics to improve execution performance.   Prior to JP Morgan Asset Management Curt was a trader and analyst at Blackrock, in the Quantitative Equity Group. Curt gained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management."
