In his new London-based role, Rowsell reports to Tony Warner, executive managing director and head of the firm’s brokerage business in London and oversees the coordination of credit strategy across BGC Partners, Mint Partners, and RP Martin in the UK. ![Tony Warner, BGC Partners](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png) Tony Warner, BGC Partners “In keeping with our commitment to talent and technology, Mr. Rowsell brings to BGC Partners a track record of success in the credit markets along with experience in electronic trading venues,” said Warner in a prepared statement. “His addition to the team will enable BGC Partners to drive forward its strategy of leveraging the Company’s extensive liquidity pools and expanding its electronic footprint.” broadstreet.zone(53777, {responsive: true, softKeywords: true, keywords: \[''\]}); Prior to the new position, Rowsell spent approximately two and a half years as a managing director and head of flow credit trading at Commerzbank, which he departed in October. The positioned followed a two-year tenure as a managing director and co-head CEEMEA of flow credit trading at Barclays. In other recent BGC Partners news, the firm completed its acquisition of equities derivatives broker Sunrise Broker Group, which it announced in mid-July. “This transaction enables us to further expand our equity derivatives offering and complements our existing financial services business,” said Shaun Lynn, president, BGC Partners, at the time. “As a recognized leader in its market segments, Sunrise Brokers is clearly a valuable addition to the BGC family of brands.” Neither BGC Partners nor Sunrise Brokers disclosed the terms of the deal. However, Sunrise generated consolidated revenues of approximately $90 million in 2015.
