100 Women in Finance Honours ETFGI's Deborah Fuhr

ETFGI, a leading independent ETF consulting and research firm, is honoured to announce that Deborah Fuhr, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of ETFGI received the 2017 European industry leadership award from 100 Women in Finance (100WF) at the 100WF London Gala held on October 11th at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, attended by more than 300 leaders from the financial services industry and in the presence of HRH Prince Harry, patron of 100WF and a patron of WellChild. This year’s gala was in aid of WellChild, with net proceeds dedicated to the national charity for sick children.

The award recognised Deborah's achievements in the financial markets, including her role as a leading industry commentator, her leadership as a pioneer in the global ETF sector, and her mentorship of women in the financial services industry.

Deborah has been described by 100WF as a “leading commentator” and an “early identifier” within the $4 trillion ETF market. Her firm, ETFGI, research and consulting helps professional and institutional investors and firms active in the global ETF industry distil a market of over 7,000 ETFs and ETPs, identify trends and provides crucial resource for the latest comprehensive market research.

Deborah is a founder and board member of international Women in ETFs, a network that champions women and education in the industry, and she is a board member of Cancer Research UK’s “Women of Influence” initiative to support female scientists.

“It was an amazing evening and it was a great experience to meet Prince Harry," Margareta added. "We are delighted to receive this award. ETFGI was set up to help and educate investors, and we are pleased to see the strides that we as an industry are making towards the democratisation of investment.”

Past awards for Ms Fuhr include 2014 William F. Sharpe Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding and lasting contributions to the field of index investing and was she named one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Finance” by Financial News over several years, most recently in 2016.

About Deborah Fuhr:

Before starting ETFGI in 2012, Deborah was global head of research and implementation strategy as well as managing director at BlackRock/Barclays Global Investors. She also worked as head of investment strategy and managing director at Morgan Stanley, and was an associate at Greenwich Associates.

Deborah writes for various leading publications such as the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal, and sits on the editorial board for several industry journals. She also contributes to advisory boards.

Deborah holds a BSc degree from the University of Connecticut and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
